Tuesday in Honduras
Thanks so much to each of you who are thinking of us and praying.
So far it is a great trip. Every one is getting along very well. We have a team of around 25. They say it is a small team. Yesterday, we saw around 320 people. Such a need down here and we are in the heart of poverity. But Hondurans are very nice folks. We are doing Medical, eyes and Dental. The people were lined up to see the Docs and some had to be turned away. Rats. We will do a better job of timing today.
The eye clinic is cool. We have a lot of reading glasses. One woman said how happy so was to get glasses so that now she can read her Bible. How cool is that!
One never knows on such a trip what you will be called on to do. I along with Becky cleaned teeth like the dentist office. There is no one skilled to do it and so here we are. Not that hard. And we cleaned teeth. Yes, with 5 minutes training, we are now cleaning Honduran teeth and giving them brushing tips and recommending tooth extraction when necessary. Today, we hope to enter more in the spiritual end of things. Yesterday, we were just figuring it out. The first thing every Honduran does after he enters the clinic is to recieve a gospel presentation with the gospel cube and given an opportunity to accept Christ. And we know from the paper they give us when they come to our station where they are spiritually. So we plan on praying with each patient. We are dealing with mainly younger kids. .
They said that 41 people accepted Christ yesterday. And how cool is that. Your continued prayers are deeply appreciated.
1. Pray for our team that we continue to love and share the gospel with these folks.
2. One girl got her camera stolen and was very upset. One doc came up to me and told me that he would give her the money to replace the camera. Really cool.
3. Pray for our dental cleaning station. We are way over our heads but are eager to serve the Lord.
