Med School Retreat Oct 7, 8
We had a great time. Dr. and Mrs. McBride invited us to their cabin and then came and hosted. We had about 18 students in all. We started off Friday night around the camp fire. Dr. McBride shared how his faith and the practice of Medicine connected. He takes his faith very seriously and spoke words of inspiration to the students and then we had a time of sharing around the circle. It was a rich evening.
The next day started with Pancakes and then back to the campfire. First year student Jon Thompson shared about our world and its need for Christ. We broke up and prayed. I then talked about John 15 and the importance to learning to abide in Christ every moment. We ended this time with wondering prayer where each student wandered around the property and prayed.
We finished up the day with fun. Canoeing, kiacking, and the jump in the lake from the sauna. Sean and I wooped Bernie and Paul in horse shoes.
What a great time. The students didn't want to leave.
